Knowledge Confirmation Test — Practice Mode
Since October 2025, the knowledge confirmation test (gaimen kirikae) is 50 questions with a 90% pass line — many examinees fail because there is no official practice material. This page gives you 50 randomly drawn questions in the same format and grades you against the real pass line.
Questions are drawn from 9 chapters of Japan's “Rules of the Road” (Kyōsoku). Chapters 9 (Commercial passenger drivers) and 11 (Vehicle owners) are out of scope for foreign license conversion.

FAQ
Is this the official knowledge confirmation test?
No. The official test is administered by your local Driver's License Center. This is a free practice version that mirrors the format (50 questions, 90% pass line) and pulls from the same source material — Japan's official Rules of the Road.
Does this reflect the October 2025 reform?
Yes. We switched from the old 10-question / 70% format to the new 50-question / 90% format. Question distribution is weighted by the chapters that examinees report most often.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no credit card. Retake as many times as you want — each attempt draws a fresh random sample.
What about translation accuracy?
Our English version is translated from the Japanese source with industry-standard terminology (jokō, karimen, honmen, etc.). For the real exam, accept the official translation provided by your prefecture's license center even if it differs slightly — that's what you'll be tested on.
Why are some chapters excluded?
Chapters 9 (commercial passenger drivers) and 11 (vehicle owners' obligations) are not part of the foreign license conversion knowledge confirmation test, so we draw only from the 9 in-scope chapters.
